The Bucks Building, Also known as the Prehm and Gill building, built in 1895 was a mercantile store on the Gill side and a dry goods and clothing store on the Prehm side. The building was later leased to Leonard France and to Harold Dean, "Buck" thus becoming Bucks Building. It was turned into a pool hall that supposedly did not allow women on the downstairs and had what was referred to as body rooms above (studio type apartments) that had a shared bath down at the end of each hall. This location is under current construction to be used as a stone baked pizzaria. The owner/workers have had a few encounters that led to our investigation and it was a great investigation as well. This is an interesting location that has a bad history. Our team will get to be the first in to investigate this location. This house originally became a bordello in the 1890`s for the Steffelbacks, This was a very popular place for the miners and drew in lots of money for the family, the family would lure the money toten miners to a back room and kill them and dispose of the bodies in the mine shafts, after relieving them of the extra money they had. People just thought they died of accidental causes in the mines. If the sons could not lure the girls in to replenish their harem they would marry them for the purpose. There were many deaths in this house, one gruesome tale from the trial states that Ed (son), killed one of the girls with the butt end of a revolver. Another states that George, (son), beat the other girls brains out by pounding her head on the floor. This has bee done. See our results on the next page.. This site is pending again, we had some great results on this one and will be conducting another run in April or May, 2010.
